Welcome to the motherhood motherlode ... kick off your shoes and wade in.
SOMEBODY'S ALWAYS HUNGRY, Essays on Motherhood by Juliet Johnson. Available in hard cover and paperback.
"Juliet Johnson has truly created something great. This is a book that makes you laugh, cry and wish that there was a movie. It is a book about motherhood that's not just for moms. This book is for everyone who was a mom, will ever be a mom or ever had a mom. This is a celebration of life, of the complexities and wonder that real life offers. There are no glossy photographs or Cleaver-esque depictions of the perfect house or the perfect life; Somebody's Always Hungry is a book about seeing God in the bridge of a nose and poetry in a severed arm." E. Putini, June 10, 2008, Amazon.com customer review

Or perhaps you want to stay for dinner and the night?
This was supposed to be a website for a new book about parenting. However, like the collection of stories that is the book, this site has become more: a home for moms -- would-be's, used-to-be's, right-now's and anyone who's ever known one. You could do numbers 1-4 above or you can wander around for days and never see the same page. Why not take a breather and make yourself at home?
(If you've been here before and want to catch up on what's been added since your last visit, click the "What's New" tab in the left margin toward the top of this page.)
We hope you stay long enough to read some stories and like them enough to purchase a book or two. But we wouldn't complain if you got lost in our house and just moved in. Feel free to stay as long as you'd like. Juliet's father-in-law, when he was just starting high school, had a friend come over for a night who wound up living with the family for thirty years. No kidding.
Search around enough and you will find six stories from Somebody's Always Hungry and other little treasures as well.
The book is funny, touching and reassuringly familiar. Early readers are responding with excitement (see our first book reviews).
Judge for yourself.
Stay in your pajamas, have some tea and peek in all our closets on this website.
We hope you'll like the taste of SOMEBODY'S ALWAYS HUNGRY.
